From 1981 to 1984, children TV channel Nickelodeon used a logo in multi-colored, 3‑dimensional and overlapping letters from the Frankfurter typeface, with a dotted I. According to Fred/Alan, “famous television designer, a moonlighting Lou Dorfsman, had designed the logo in 1981, and our brilliant friend Bob Klein had added a silver ball that zoomed around the screen in and out of everything a kid might find exciting.” “The pinball theme was used in the network’s IDs during the period, including one that used early 1980s-era computer graphics.” — Logopedia
In 1984, it was replaced by the iconic logo featuring Balloon on orange.
