All three weights of Safari, used together on the cover of the debut album by country musician Roy Clark (1933–2018), released in 1962 [Wikipedia] or 1963 [Discogs].
While most of the title is set in the Medium weight of the 1960 release by Headliners, the artist’s name features the Bold – each with condensed letterforms and a couple of interlocking pairs. “The” is added in the Light, stretched to Semi-Wide proportions. The track names are set in condensed capitals from News Gothic.
No designer is credited. The motion blur photography is by George Jerman, a Capitol Records staff photographer who also worked on Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys.
This cover of a French EP with four tracks features a cropped version of the photo and reuses the key elements of the typography.
