No Time To Die is the fifth — and allegedly last — James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig as secret agent 007. In good Bond tradition, the trailer starts with Bond, walking, taking a halt and turning his head. Instead of pointing his gun as a next step, this time he vanishes into the black background. Upon zooming out, it turns out that he was standing on a stencil part of his movie logo, using Futura Black. The release date (April 2020) uses Futura.

    1. The N and M were modified. In the original Futura Black, the outer parts in these letters are perfect triangles. The apertures here were opened up a bit, making the letterforms less graphic, but probably a bit more legible.

    2. This was again designed at Empire Design (responsible for the last 5 campaigns). I did the type, while my colleague Olly Gibbs put together the animation.

Great to see it featured here, this is by far my favourite online typographic resource.

    3. Hello Tom,

Thanks for chiming in and for the kind words! Credits added.

    4. This design is so recognizable, i really like it!

Each part of the letters comes together like a puzzle :-). Like it is in the movie. I wondered if this was the intention of using this font by Tom Brooks? Or was there a more deep decision? I would be very pleasured if I could get more information about this design for my studies ;)

All in all – I love the spirit of the whole design. It catched me!
