The cover design by Acy Lehman features a painting by Dick Hohlfied, which was already used in an earlier re-issue from 1963 under the title Beyond The Sunset (with the title set in Futura Display). MGM Records initially (?) didn’t mention the name Hank Williams, but wised up to the fact that it might help with the marketing. The flared face with top serifs and horizontal contrast is Ed Benguiat’s Zenedipity. The track list is in caps from a bold condensed sans with straight-sided rounds, much like Alternate Gothic, but with horizontal terminals.
You have refreshed memories of my favorite artist Hank Williams. Hank was a great American singer and songwriter. I have lost this great person in the year 1953.
