La Retaguardia by Anaïs Florin
La Retaguardia is a choral, visual and experiential story about El Punt, a documentation center and library on social movements. The book is built from the materials of the center, and the stories of the people who make up this group. This first edition will be only available for consulting in libraries and archives.
The design aims to provide these two resources with highly marked graphic languages. On the one hand, the experiential story, with a more friendly character; on the other hand, the complementary resources and images, which follow a harsher, archival-style aesthetic. This duality brings identity to the whole book.
This book is the tangible part of a project by Anaïs Florin, in the framework of the cycle Variaciones sobre el plano, a cycle of public and private actions curated by Ángela Montesinos and Juan Luis Toboso for the IVAM (line IVAM produce).
Design by Carles Rodrigo, using Whyte by Dinamo and the monospaced MS Gothic, the Latin-alphabet counterpart of a CJK font by RICOH, 1993.
