Roberto López – Kaleido Strópico album art
Véronique Lafortune and Emile Lord Ayotte of Montréal-based studio Billyclub made excellent (and early) use of Baryton for an album of Latin jazz music by Colombian artist Roberto López. The capital letterforms were selectively skewed, extended, and joined into ligature-like pairs until they couldn’t help but dance.
Designed by Étienne Aubert Bonn and My-Lan Thuong, Baryton is a digital revival and interpretation of Century Bartuska, which was released by Photo-Lettering, Inc. in the 1970s. Their “hommage to Frank Bartuska’s design” expands on the idea of exaggerated features, while also allowing them to add their own personal touch to it. Baryton was released with a newly added italic by Coppers & Brasses in 2020.
The sans-serif caps used for the album title are from Founders Grotesk [see comments].

The sans looks like Founders Grotesk, going by the small aperture in C and lowish waist of R.
