This post is for all cover art designed for the album 8.Päivä, the studio album of Finnish rapper Adi L Hasla, all using the Arabic inspired font Edda to reach the goal to include visually the artist’s roots in the project. Furthermore it completes the deep sounds and atmosphere of the color structure.
In the previous post of this project you can find everything around the first single “Turta” and the planned tour, which didn’t happen because of Covid-19. Instead we created a fantastic animation reel with all the songs in a suiting situation that refers to the lyrics.
Edda was designed by German artist Heinz Keune at the height of the Art Nouveau period, and named after the Edda, the Old Norse name of two Medieval Icelandic literary works. Its shapes may evoke associations with the Arabic/Persian script, but I’d be surprised if Keune was inspired by Middle Eastern culture.
