The book jacket of the first edition of The Green Pastures as published by Farrar & Rinehart in 1929 represents another use of a bold weight of Nicolas Cochin, see also The Silent Witness from the same year and publisher.
The title page features Goudy Handtooled (1922) in all caps.
The text on the back of the jacket is set in Garamond (ATF), including its Bold Italic with swash caps for the first line.
