An album artwork series made by Raissa Pardini for Declan Welsh and The Decadent West band to celebrate their new EP It’s Been a Year Now, and the accompanying single records and tour.
The main font used is Zloy, masterfully modified by Raissa. The EP’s singles each got their own compact and dense logo. Some serifs have peen pinched, resulting in a playful effect that is reminiscent of heavy metal typography. The expressive Zloy is accompanied by the peaceful Franklin Gothic Condensed.
Not every font license allows modifying font’s curves, but in the case of Zloy, it’s welcome and officially allowed by the End User License Agreement (EULA). Read the End User License Agreements of the fonts you use. You might be surprised!
