Funktion Studio created the visual redesign/relaunch of the layout of the Niederösterreichische Nachrichten NÖN (as well as the affiliated BVZ) for Marble House.
Text and image were given structure by creating white space and eliminating visual disturbance. The new design aims to optimize readability, visual guidance, orientation and assignability.
In addition to a new page layout and grid, new fonts and a barrier-free color coding system have been introduced. A contemporary typography was designed using Cast Type Foundry’s Sole Serif and Sole Sans – two typefaces optimized for newspaper printing.
