The Swiss are known for their clean design language. but this exterior signage in Brienz, Switzerland, surprised me – and delighted me at the same time!
Established in 1910, Blatter is a traditional family business that makes and sells tables, chairs and furniture from the Biedermeier era. They’re using Shotgun for their advertising – a highly constructed geometric typeface designed by J. Looney in 1972.
Contradiction or daring? Or just ignorance, or coolness? I don’t know, but I celebrate Mr. or Mrs. Blatter’s decision!
