I was a shop in Belfast and it has tons of CDs, DVDs and vinyl records. I bought this album in December 2023. I almost wasn’t going to go into the shop and lucky for me I did, beause it’s a rare find for someone like me.

Dermot O’Brien (1932–2007) was an Irish singer, accordion player and band leader. This is his debut album with Scottish dance music, released in 1964 on Beltona, which at the time was a sublabel by Decca dedicated to releasing Irish and Scottish music.

The sleeve features the Normal style of Jay Gothic, as it is named in my VGC catalogue. I have the 3rd edition of the catalogue series. There is also the same title text on the back as well.

The cover photograph is by Christopher Moore. The layout/design is uncredited. Clout & Baker did the printing.

I love finding these rare typefaces on covers of records and books. If anyone wants to add comments or information please do, as that’s the purpose of this site – to share information.
