Mémoire des moissons is the story of a world on fire, where no one really understands where the spark came from, but some try to see through the smoke screens. It’s a fiction, but it speaks of the real world, of the way the world goes and is becoming, and who knows, maybe a little about you, and without a doubt about me. The images come from three film rolls that didn’t quite develop as they should. There are happy accidents.
Through the edition, the seed became a harvest—paper you can touch and smell, which won’t burn unless you set it on fire. I also thank Chris Marker, who is no longer in this world or the world of Internet, but who made La Jetée, a major inspiration.

I chose to use the Bluebeard typeface because the story of the zine resonates like a fairy tale, and the Amiamie (available on Typothèque Genderfluid by Bye Bye Binary) typeface allowed me to convey Nicolas’ story in an inclusive way.
