    1. So I get that this typography is purposefully amateur, but how does that relate to Cook or the article? The story portrays his personality as less icy than his early reputation suggested, but this treatment makes Cook seem goofy and sloppy — which is not what the piece is about. Under the direction of Richard TurleyBusinessweek gained a reputation for an “ironic” visual style, but their playfulness usually had some direct relationship to the content. Now I fear they are simply parodying themselves.

The same brain malfunction that affects writers who write about Apple (documented splendidly by the Macalope at Macworld.com) has obviously spread to designers too.
    3. Why did they use a script for uppercase? The yellow-to-blue gradient overlay on the text adds insult to injury, in my opinion. The treatment almost looks clown-y. I just don’t get it at all.

    4. Next-level LtypI? When writing about Tim Cook’s learning curve,  what is better than a font called “Learning curve”?

Seems like the awful gradients are a jab at Ive, if anyone. But other than this is a stetch.

      Oh well.

I hope MTV enjoys their brand renaissance.

This typography made me think of Tibor Kalman immediately.
I LIKE IT – great stuff.
