Greenpeace Damages One Of World’s Most Sacred Places

“A group of activists laid down a banner that reads “Time for Change! The Future is Renewable” next to Peru’s world-famous Nazca Lines, leaving footprints in the sensitive desert. No one, not even presidents, is allowed without authorization where the activists trod. Peru is considering pressing criminal charges and called the stunt a ‘slap in the face at everything Peruvians consider sacred.’” — AP

For a nuance: Nazca Lines aren’t always all safe with Peruvians either.
