Times Modern

A late 1960s phototype design of unclear origin. Used already in early 1968. Shown by Lettergraphics as Times Modern Black [Lettergraphics 1968] and by others as Times Whisp [Castcraft 1978] [Haber 1982].

Times Text [Lettergraphics 1976] and Times Bold Modified [Phil’s Photo 1985] are similar but not the same.

Scangraphic/Elsner+Flake used to sell a digital version, but it is discontinued due to naming rights.
