Monopol is a German “magazine for art and life”. Since the makeover in May 2009, the covers feature Serifa Bold, several styles of Linotype Times, and, always in a fake sticker, Times Modern, the family’s elusive bold display cousin. The nameplate with the grotesque unicase is very likely custom.

Because of its heaviness and the delicate counters, Times Modern asks for a very tight spacing. This has not always been considered, as the cover of the current issue demonstrates.
