Designed by Rudolf Koch and issued by Stempel in breit, eng and schmal styles in 1923 (larger sizes also made in wood), followed by a schmalhalbfett in 1934. The schmal was adapted for the Linotype before 1929 [Seemann].
The schmal (narrow) has been revived by Dieter Steffmann and Ralph M. Unger (latter as Schmale Anzeigenfraktur). Delbanco has the breit (wide), while Gerhard Helzel offers two weights, breit and schmal. Wittenbach (Scriptorium, 1993) appears to be an interpretation of the eng.
