Designed in 1901 by Joseph W. Phinney for ATF and initially spelled Abbot Oldstyle (with single ‘t’). Comes with alternates for ‘rCRW’ and an ‘ing’ logotype with swash ‘g’. [McGrew]
Adopted for phototype by VGC from the T.J. Lyons Collection before 1970, now spelled Abbott Old Style.
