Michel Medium and Bold were designed by Michel Waxmann with art direction from Conway (Conways?) Photosetting before 1970 [Modern Publicity]. The (demi) gras (bold) weight is shown in Lettera 4, with a 1969 date, via Hollenstein. Shown in three styles in the 1974 Hollenstein catalog. The medium (maigre) style (shown) was adopted by Letraset in the 1970s. Michel simplifié is a simplified two-line style. A fourth style, Michel éclairé (like simplifié with outlined strokes for a neon-like effect), is shown in Modern Publicity 1976.
