ITC’s version of Tyfa (Grafotechna 1960). In 1978, Czech type designer Jan Solpera sent ITC a letter suggesting that it should consider releasing Tyfa. For political reasons, ITC couldn’t start corresponding with Týfa before 1990. In 1995, Czech type designer František Štorm approached Tyfa and proposed digitizing the typeface under the elder designer’s direction. ITC Tyfa was released in 1998. A Pro version in OpenType format with old style figures, ligatures, small caps, and support for most Central European and many Eastern European languages followed in 2006. [ITC]
