The International Typeface Corporation was founded by Aaron Burns, Herb Lubalin, and Ed Rondthaler in New York in 1970. ITC licensed typeface designs to manufacturers of phototypesetting equipment and dry transfer sheets. Many of the predigital fonts were produced by Rondthaler’s Photo-Lettering. From 1973 to 1999, ITC published U&lc magazine. In 1986, ITC was acquired by Esselte Letraset (see Letraset) and in 2000 by Agfa Monotype. The library is currently owned by Monotype Imaging, see Monotype.
