The original face may have been Rustic No. 2,
issued in 1845/6 by Figgins [Gray]
or Ornamented No. 3 by Bruce. Available from many
19th-century foundries (Besley, Boston, Fann St., Ullmer) as
Rustic. The design differed in different sizes, and
eventually included
regular, shaded, and outline shaded versions.
It was recut in 1962 or earlier by John S. Carroll as
“Rustic or Log Cabin … from Bruce’s
Ornamented No. 864.” [McGrew]
