Designed by Louis Minott. Winner of a VGC competition in 1965. Possibly inspired by Victorian-era designs such as Hogarth (Central, ca. 1887). Mecanorma had it as Silva. Formatt’s alias was Darling.
The original phototype font offered various alternates (for ‘AEF’ and 1–9) that digital versions lack, but Bitstream’s digitization uses different forms than the others.
