Designed by E.R. Weiß, initially for the exclusive use in the Tempel-Klassiker editions by Tempel-Verlag Leipzig (1909–1911). [typografie.info] Released by Bauer in 1913. Accompanied by a halbfett weight [Reichardt]. Both were also adopted for the Intertype [Seemann 1933/1935 addendum]. Later extended with licht (open) and Kursiv (italic) styles.
Weiß worked on a Neue Weiß-Fraktur for Bauer from 1935 to his death in 1942, but it remained unreleased. [Klingspor-Museum]
