On May 13, 1973, Bobby Riggs challenged Billie Jean King to a highly publicized novelty match that had as much to do with the rising feminist movement as it did tennis.
The match had an audience of an estimated 90 million worldwide and 50 million in the US, where It aired on ABC with this title card. The type is ITC Avant Garde Gothic, immensely popular at the time, with alternate ‘e’s.
