    1. It’s hard to believe this was published in 1936. Looks so new. Must have been quite special at the time.

    2. You need to check out more German stuff from the 1920/30s :)

    3. I was under the impression that Futura didn’t have a square-barred ‘1’. It was how I was always distinguishing Spartan from the original. But perhaps this style of ‘1’ was offered in Germany too? It also appears in this 1936 Swiss ad.
