This is the original Rough Trade album cover – later re-issues lost the blue, cropped the photo and superimposed text in a different font. “The Smiths” is, I think, Monotype Grotesque Bold. The album title appears to be Univers Bold Condensed.
The photo is of Fabrice Colette shot by Gilles Decroix taken from a July 1983 special edition of the French newspaper Libération.
