I never thought I’d find an LTypI with Sand!
Commissioned by Apple for Mac OS 8 themes in 1996, this font needed to share the same metrics as Chicago so it could easily replace the long-standing Mac system font in the theming feature.
“The graphic designer who was working on the ‘nature’ theme said to imagine going to the beach and drawing letters in the sand with a stick. [Due to the coarse resolution and forced metrics] the reality of it was that you were drawing in rocks with a tree trunk.” — David Berlow
The secondary font is NIMX Jacoby Black (Image Club, 1995).
