The popular children’s book written by Gail Jorgensen and illustrated by Patricia Mullins was first published in 1988 by Omnibus Books, Adelaide, in association with Penguin Books Australia Ltd., and also by Rigby Books and Scholastic Inc. It was subsequently issued with the same cover typography by Bradbury Press/Macmillan (1989), Simon & Schuster Children’s Publication (hardcover, 1989), and Aladdin (paperback, 1994).
