Orfeu is a bar-cum-club which opened November 2017 in in a former cash exchange in the Vila Normanda building in the centre of São Paulo.

Alias Harbour is used for logo and headline type, paired with an engraving that for some reason does not show the mythical musician, poet, and prophet Orpheus as one would expect. Depicted is Phaëthon, as drawn by Hendrick Goltzius in a series of four mythical men falling from grace (Tantalus, Icarus, Phaëthon en Ixion).

    1. Thank you Mr. Hague for the contribution and for the amazing fonts you have created.

I was the designer behind Orfeu’s brand identity while working at its parent company Chez Brasil, whose owner Mr. Orth also acted as creative director.

Indeed we chose Goltzius’ engraving of Phaeton for the nightclub’s poster/logo (simply because we liked the visual fit), but for the restaurant we used an illustration of Orpheus by Jean Cocteau (in a banner near the entrance, not pictured here).
