Futura Black was used for many years in the iconic branding of the Boston Police Department and their cruisers (accompanied by Eurostile). The department’s branding has since been replaced with a much more bland design.
A new design is in order. I am a designer by trade and I think the new design should be a simple, classic American american design – A black body, a white roof. The car number would be large black Garamond type face on the roof so ID is easily viewed from the air. The drivers door and passenger doors would have a large “gold leaf” BPD in Garamond Bold with the old Boston Seal logo centered under done in Gold, Black and White. The vertical surface of the trunk lid would be done in large decal of diagonal stripes of Dayglow Safety Yellow Green as with the London, England cars and the 911 number. All simple and less cost to produce. Respectfully, PJ Collins PS: my grandfather was proudly a Boston Police officer for 40 years.

I actually took that last photo of the Boston cruiser. Can you credit me as the photographer? Thanks.
Credit added. Thanks so much for commenting, Greg!
