Historiens Vilkår i en Brydningstid – Sverker Sörlin
These were the main messages that Swedish environmental historian Sverker Sörlin presented to his Nordic history colleagues in a speech at the Nordic History meeting in the summer of 2017. As Sörlin said at the end of his speech: “Society will be improved by the consideration, diligence and wisdom that the fields of history and humanities can deliver in our best moments. If it sounds odd, it is because we rarely talk about the potential of our profession.”
