The December 1930 issue of Typographische Mitteilungen: Zeitschrift des Bildungsverbandes der Deutschen Buchdrucker (“Typographic Messages: The Journal of the Education Association of German Printers”) uses Radio (Berthold, 1930) and Berthold-Grotesk (1928) on its cover. The number “12” is set in Rundfunk (1928). This precursor of Radio is distinguished by elongated caps and ascenders. Like Radio, it was cut by Berthold after drawings by Prof. Adolf Behrmann, Berlin. Note the use of all lowercase letters.
