Our proposal for the new identity of the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design focused on four key aspects. First, signaling the Daniels Faculty as an active hub for a host of different practices and approaches. Second, complementing, instead of competing with, the new building’s own distinct visual language. Third, presenting an identity that is flexible and inclusive. Finally, helping to simplify, amplify and provide a short form for a complex name that stands next to the University of Toronto long form logo. The result is a flexible and modern black and white wordmark and layout system that helps consolidate the various sub-brands and programs.
