Cassette release for Tatsuro Yamashita’s Pocket Music, released in 1986 on Moon Records.
The cover uses stretched Marschall — or more likely a later release of the same type under the name of Domingo. On the cassette, most information is set in Futura. The sans serif and the Japanese type on the cassette spine are unidentified.
Art Direction: Kenichi Hanada
Artwork: Kyozo Hayashi
I think the large sans serif characters on the spine are set in 新聞特太ゴシック体 (Shimbun Tokubuto Gothic-tai), a phototypesetting typeface from Shaken (写研). l-l-l.jp/wp/?p=1367
The sans serif typeface on the back bottom is 石井ゴシック体 (Ishii Gothic-tai) from Shaken. I’m not sure of the weight.

Great addition, one of my all time favorite albums!
Thank you very much, Akira!
