Rezas do Diabo (“Devil’s Prayers”) is a poetry book by Brazilian writer Wencesláu de Queiroz (1863–1921), posthumously published in 1939. Wenceslau’s poems deal with themes such as occultism, satanism, and blasphemy.

This work is the result of César Ganimi’s final project for the Specialization Course in Graphic Design at Campinas State University (Unicamp).

The book measures 17×12 cm and was digitally printed on Pólen Bold 90 g/m², with a screen-printed hardcover. The poems are set in Grenze by Omnibus-Type. The title on the cover as well as the section numerals, the poem titles and the page numbers use Digestive by Jérémy Landes. In further roles: IM Fell English by Igino Marini for running titles, the imprint, etc., and Syncopate by Stiggy & Sands for additional type on the cover and for section titles.

    1. Grenze: I love this font. The fonts “Thalweg” and “Thalweg Poetica” have a similar appearance. And I like all three of them.

    2. Thank you, Kurt. I have added Thalweg as a related typeface to the page for Grenze. You might like JAF Lapture, too (or the original typeface it is based on, Leipziger Antiqua).

    3. Yes Florian, thanks, they are all very interesting indeed: wonderful fonts. I was surprised that the “Grenze” is so easy to read in a book. A daring design. But, as the saying goes: he who dares wins‽
