“YOU&ME&ME&YOU” mural
Anthony Burrill has designed a seven-storey-high mural for Leeds. Black and white lettering stretches 88ft high in the designer’s biggest artwork so far, which adorns the end of a historic canal-side building in the city

The piece itself repeats two words in alternating size and order, connected by an ampersand, based on Condensed & Elongated Sans Serifs – published by Stephenson Blake around the beginning of the twentieth century.
It’s not the first project by designer Anthony Burrill using this type, see also his “Enough is Enough” piece, printed with wooden poster type. In fact, the middle part of this design can be found as a spread in his Work Hard and Be Nice To People, published 2020. The lettering is likely based on wood type, and available as a framed print from Burrill’s webshop.
