ICBQ is a magazine that focuses on sharing and exploring the work of designers and other creative people that was previously unseen, unused or rejected. Issue 05 was released in December 2020, with a focus on the overarching theme of freedom. The issue features previously unpublished work from Happy Little Accidents, Finn Reduhn, Jun Lin, Sid White-Jones, Jonathan Quaade, Symbol Studio, Yarza Twins, Gregory Page, Tom Shepherd-Barron and Lily Hayes.

The issue was designed as an exercise in freedom itself, with several designers working independently of each other throughout 2020, for obvious reasons. Each feature was developed in response to its content, but within a certain set of typographic restrictions — namely the font. MD System from the excellent Mass-Driver™ is used throughout in two styles (Regular and Bold) to tie the otherwise eclectic design together and unify the editorial voice.
