    Stan Davis is best known as the designer of the amorphous 1960s face Amelia. In the early 1970s, he drew a series of squarish display faces with many alternates for VGC, all carrying his first name: Stan Control, Stan Compromise, the fully angular Stan Conform, and the rounded Stan Free.

    Stan Control was used for the trailer as well as the opening and end titles of Stranger Days, a 1995 science fiction thriller film directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Juliette Lewis, and Tom Sizemore.
