Sommelt – Rituals album art and “New Tribe” video
This is a poster, album cover and video for Rituals, the debut album of the musical trickster Sommelt, a persona created by Polish improviser and composer Tomek Kuczma. The album was designed by the artist himself, with a photo by Alicja Lesiak and cover artwork by Bartosz Lis.
A note from the designer:
Each track on the album is a recording of a musical ritual, ideated and improvised live on the spot, based on the energy of the people participating in the event. The concept of the album revolves around lost ceremonies and rituals, which used to accompany the various rites of passage and important moments in human life. Moments in which the group used to embrace the emotions connected to a certain point in a journey of an individual into the common experience. Rituals is an attempt to revive these experiences in our contemporary, internet-oriented, urban life.
