Voyage to a Forgotten Sun by Donald J. Pfeil (Ballantine)
Voyage to a Forgotten Sun is the first novel by Californian science fiction writer Donald J. Pfeil (1937–1989). It was published in 1975 by Ballantine Books. Both the front and the back cover of the first edition make striking use of Yagi Bold. On the former, the typeface is integrated into the cover art by Bob Pepper, with the title partly set on a curve, and its biline letterforms echoing the concentric circles of the sun/halo. Teruoki Yagi gave his typeface two forms for N, both of which have been used here. On the back, Yagi Bold is used for a big quote, with the inline filled in yellow. The serif used for “A rousing space opera” as well as for the excerpt and the author info is unidentified.
