Taylor Swift dropped her surprised album Folklore (all in lowercase) in the mid of pandemic in the year of 2020, shifting her musical sounds into folk alternative, and present stories from each sides of fiction character from universe that she build in an album.

The vinyl and compact disc releases were published with eight different covers (and back covers). IM Fell DW Pica is used throughout – a grungy revival of a typeface cut by Peter de Walpergen and acquired by British bishop John Fell in the seventeenth century.

Design by Swift’s 13 Management Team, with art direction by Taylor Swift.

    1. The same typographical style is used on the music lyric videos for the songs from the album too. Often with dynamic size, fade, and lift effects.

    2. Hello Saprila (here after I note your ‘liking’ of my Helena Blehárová LP cover artwork, thank you!)

Very interesting to get an insight into some album artwork related to solo female Pop in a more contemporary vein.

This idea of having a choice of eight different designs for both front and rear covers must be quite a challenge for physical record shops when it comes to stocking, trying to predict which design the customers choose–- much easier to do so from an online shop, where one could click/tap on the design of their choice.

Maybe you had quite a challenge choosing which cover designs to upload, given the limit on the number of accompanying images!
