A Spanish print ad for Nestlé Super, a limited-edition range of premium chocolate introduced in 1979 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company’s presence in the country. Both the ads and packaging feature a selection of contemporary typefaces, all of them from ITC. Friz Quadrata is used for headlines and product names in the wrappers; ITC Korinna features for descriptions in packaging and for body copy; and ITC Souvenir was specified for the ad copy that highlights each product. Both Korinna and Souvenir are revivals of typefaces from the early 20th century made by Ed Benguiat. Ernst Friz’s Friz Quadrata is used for the chocolate packaging, too.
