Released in December 1968, Love Is is the third and final album by Eric Burdon and the Animals. The cover of the gatefold double LP was produced by Rainstory Prod. Michael O’Bryant is credited for photography and design, Mitchell Brisker for graphic art. Title and band name are shown in hand-drawn capitals from Arnold Böcklin.
Proportions and weight aside, the lettering artist stayed fairly close to the original design. They took some topological liberties with I, C, U, T and L. I like the bifurcated terminals – Tuscan Böcklin FTW!
