.Smirk a.k.a. Nick Vicario is a punk musician from Los Angeles, also known from Public Eye. LP is the title of his first album under this name, mastered at North London Bomb Factory and released in March 2021 – through Feel It Records in the U.S., and through Drunken Sailor Records in the U.K.
Art and layout by Smoking Room, who combined two typefaces by Rudolf Koch: his multiline Prisma, slanted, and the Rotunda-like Wallau, here in its halbfett (bold) weight with “German capitals”, i.e. with the blackletter alternates. The specific font is Wallau Deutsch, a digitization with soft contours made by Dieter Steffmann in 2002. The hook in I was trimmed, so that it looks less like a J. Steffmann also offers a freebie digitization of Prisma.
