Ecrans Urbains was born from the meeting of the artistic directors Aldo Bearzatto and Hervé Bougon and the Fondation Culture du Bâti – CUB. Founded by 16 entities active in the various fields of the built environment (architecture, engineering, urban planning, landscape, heritage and construction), the Fondation Culture du Bâti – CUB is a showcase for the dynamism of the discipline in the Lausanne region and, by extension, in Romandie.

Since 2016, the CUB has been committed to promoting a transdisciplinary culture of the built environment to as many people as possible. To this end, it collaborates with partner institutions or develops its own projects such as the Ecrans Urbains festival. At each event, partners of the foundation and friends of the CUB meet to discover, share and debate what constitutes a quality built and landscape environment.
