The AMEN Festival is a major event for fans of electronic music in Germany’s Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region. First organized in 2017, AMEN brings together thousands of ravers under the credo “In Techno We Trust”.
On the 9th of December 2023, it’s time again for another night full of thumping beats and hypnotic rhythms. This year’s edition will take place at Hessenhallen Giessen, just north of Frankfurt. There will be four floors dedicated to techno, tech house, technodisco, hardtechno, and tekk. The line-up lists more than two dozen acts including cherished veterans and promising newcomers, headlined by Aisha, Akki, Anna Reusch, AnD, A*S*Y*S, Dallaniel, Funky Floorburn, Kaiserdisco, Kalte Liebe, Klanglos, Pappenheimer, Shlømo, Vanessa Sukowski, and Zeuz.
The promotional graphics for this year’s festival were designed by Profi Aesthetics, who went for CGI imagery of barbed wire with mighty spikes, coated in ice. The logo and display typography feature Tempel Grotesk. This blocky black sans was drawn by Reymund Schröder, taking cues from 19th-century heavyweights. Tempel Grotesk was released in Production Type’s LAB, in four widths from Condensed to Wide. AMEN make use of the loudest one, of course: the uncompromising capitals of Tempel Grotesk Wide.
