A colourful leaflet issued for the London trade to sell motor coach touring holidays of the English Lake District. The deal included ‘express coach service travel’ outbound and homewards provided by regular scheduled coach services up into Lancashire and Westmorland before settling down in pre-booked accomodation and then seeing the sights by day tours.
The leaflet notes that these holidays are provided by “Standerwick – Scout”; in truth both these long established names in coach services were subsidiaries of the well known Ribble Motor Services who, despite acquisition of both, chose to retain the identity of each operator. Standerwick were based in Blackpool whilst Scout were closer to Ribble’s home in Preston.
The artwork appears to be signed “HS”, the initials just being clipped off the edge of the leaflet. The text appears to have been machine set.
