Don’t Cry For Me Argentina by Julie Covington from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s concept album Evita was an international hit in 1976. The album was adapted for the stage in 1978. The single was a hit for a second time when Madonna covered it in 1996 for a full length motion picture adaptation of the play.

Penny Farthing by Letraset’s Bob Newman was released in 1974. Its namesake comes from the late Victorian-era bicycle (featuring a massive front wheel and a rather small back wheel). Alternates included options for interlocking, vertically stacked characters, and variable widths. (Penny Farthing’s kooky alternates were its defining traits.) Sadly, a readily available digital interpretation has yet to make its way into the twenty-first century.
